Johansson was allegedly seeing a therapist to deal with her own stuff, while Reynolds was trying to keep things together. Although the two only recently bought a home in Los Angeles and talked about expanding their New York home, things weren’t that good for them. The former couple reportedly wanted to get through the holidays and Johansson’s birthday, but ended up going through a trial separation shortly after.
